Sitecore characterizes its platform with the following description:
“Know every customer. Shape every experience.”
The objective of the Sitecore Experience Platform (“SXP“) is to provide you with the tools to be able to have personalized one-on-one discussions with your customers across all platforms. By doing this you are meeting your website visitors half way, you are providing them with relevant information, which they are truly looking for, in a short time. This is how you are shaping their positive experience, their path to converting takes less time and they like coming back to you.
A practical example: Introducing George. George is a winemaker down the road that everyone likes. When you visit him, he welcomes you at the door, saying, “Hi Peter, hi Jane, it’s nice to see you again. I know you like a sweeter, white wine but I don’t have your favorite, Chardonnay, now. However, what if I offer you great tasting, Sylvan Green, which has just arrived?“ Everyone likes George because he knows his customers. (Thanks to the guys from Acomware for the proper example).
This is exactly the situation, where Sitecore and its personalized tools are used. Why offer Peter and Jane red wine or discounted Pilsner is a can, when it isn’t what they are looking for?
How does Sitecore know what the visitor is interested in? Easily. The customer leaves several pieces of information about him on his own. For example, we find out a lot of information from the campaign from which he comes from, from his location, behavior on the web using his previous views and a number of other indications. This all gives us clues as to what type of customer we have the privilege of dealing with. XDB takes care of the dirty work – sophisticated technology built on Mongo DB and MS SQL. With its help, we are able to save and consequently use any information obtained from the viewer in a personalized, one-on-one conversation.
SXP is the leader in the field. This is also the reason Gartner annually ranks it among the most innovative leaders on the global market. It consists of a series of advanced tools. My colleagues and I will discuss each of these tools in more detail in the next posts of this blog. So, be sure to subscribe. We will primarily deal with the following:

- AIDA: Analytical tools, Analytics Dashboard, Values, …
